Check that
the subfloor is sufficiently level using a long board.
If protection against moisture is required, lay plastic sheeting
. Lay the underlay .
Begin laying
in a left-hand corner, with wedges between the boards and the
wall,
and with the tongues facing into the room. Use string to check
that the row is correctly aligned.
Start the
second row with the piece left over from the first row. Leave at
least 50 cm between end joints . Apply glue along the whole of
the upper side of the groove on the long and short sides of the
board.
Tap the
boards together immediately using a hammer and a tapping block.
If the board is at the end of a row, knock together the end
joints with a heel iron and wedge firmly in place.
Fit the
skirtings and mouldings. You're ready to move in!
